Equipping, Empowering and Encouraging Caregivers
Engaging While Aging

Scheduled for released in February 2010.

Engaging While AGING addresses important considerations and transitions that older adults need to be prepared for, and baby boomers should begin considering, assuming they have not already done so. I begin this book with a look at the affects of aging, ways to age well and how to minimize safety risks. Knowing that older adults and people with chronic and life-threatening illnesses are likely to encounter many important and difficult decisions, I address the issues they are likely to face, explain the common concerns, explain the various options that might be available and offer advice to help people avoid surprises.

Book cover

In this book I cover topics such as driving/transportation, and living environments and care arrangement. I offer insight and share information everyone needs to know about advance directives, legal and financial planning. I address government services, insurance options, Hospice care, funeral planning, the handling of personal belongings, and more. The reason Engaging is the word in the title is because baby boomers and older adults need to purposefully give consideration and deliberately make choices. When life becomes increasingly challenging due to age-related limitations and diseases, I find that maintaining control over life becomes increasingly important. The best way to maintain control is to give serious consideration to the issues you are likely to encounter, understand the options, determine your preferences and express your wishes to those who could be called upon to provide support. Engaging While AGING steps you through the issues and options, and offers considerations to help you determine what might be best based on your particular situation. In addition, I share insightful perspectives you are not likely to hear from family advisors and friends.
