MISSION :
Charles Puchta (Puck-ta) is founder and principal of Aging America Resources. He is an award winning author and nationally acclaimed authority and speaker on the subject of aging and caregiving. Charles has devoted his life to helping families, professionals and religious leaders better understand and address aging, caregiving and long-term care issues. His distinctive gift is his ability to take complex subject matter, distill it and communicate it in a way that makes sense to the audience.
Charles became active in the aging and caregiving industry as a result of his personal experience. By the mid 1990’s, both of his parents where diagnosed with a chronic illness and their lives were becoming increasingly challenging. He spoke with their financial, legal, medical and spiritual advisors searching for direction and insight to help him provide the appropriate care and support, but to no avail. He read articles and searched countless websites only to be frustrated. Having clipped articles, sought information from every source imaginable and having talked with dozens of families who were facing challenges resulting from aging or illness. Puchta found everyone was facing similar challenges and frustrations. Unfortunately, the common challenges are not adequately being addressed in a system that has become specialized and fragmented.
In 2001, Charles left a successful career in corporate America to found Aging America Resources. His first book was published in May of 2002 and received national recognition within months. Since that time, Puchta has written three other books which he updates every couple of years as the issues and options are constantly changing. He wants to make sure people have the most current and accurate information to help them along their journey. Charles is a regular on the national speaking curcuit and works with churches and faith-based communities across the country helping them to develop and/or increase the effectiveness of their care ministry programs. We Believe
The Bible - I believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and infallible Word of God. (2 Tim. 3:16).
God - I believe there is one true and living God who is manifested in three eternal and coequal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Math. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14).
Jesus Christ – I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully human and fully divine. Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity, was raised from the dead in victory over death and sin, and ascended to God's side in heaven. He will one day return to bring to completion the Kingdom of God. (Acts 1:11; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Phil. 2:6-11; Heb. 1:3).
The Holy Spirit - I believe the Holy Spirit works in individuals' lives that they may acknowledge their sin and turn to God for salvation. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer at the moment of salvation, fills every believer as he/she yields to the Spirit's guidance and instruction, and empowers every believer through spiritual gifts for effective living and ministry. (Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 12:7,13; Gal. 4:6, 5:16,25).
Reconciliation with God - I believe that individuals may be reconciled with God only by turning to Him for forgiveness of their sins and being justified through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ. This experience is a gift of God's grace, which cannot be earned, but is received by faith as a person trusts in Jesus Christ. (John 1:12, 14:6; Rom. 3:23-25; Eph. 2:8-10; 1 John 2:2).
Faith and Practice - I believe that the Holy Spirit's indwelling, filling, and empowering of believers makes it possible for every Christian to experience a full life characterized by growth toward spiritual maturity and spiritual productivity. Every believer may relate directly and personally with God, and may also have the privilege of helping others relate to God. (John 10:10; Rom. 8:29-30; 2 Cor. 5:18-20; Eph. 2:10, 4:13; 1 Tim. 2:5).
The Church - I believe the Church is the worldwide fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ, commissioned by Jesus to make disciples throughout the world. A local church is a community of believers characterized by love and unity, and committed to worshipping God and making disciples through evangelism, education, encouragement, and empowerment of believers for ministry and service. (John 17:11; Heb. 10:24-25).
